Lucence

Lucence has several meanings.  It means glowing with a clear light but also refers to a level of awareness or understanding.  These images allude to both the quality of light and also to the experience of belonging born of deep attention to a particular place.  This grouping includes works from the Tidelog project in which the changing seasonal light on Richardson Bay, California, was painted weekly from November 2017 to March  2018.  it continues to grow as I explore the interplay of light with water and our coastal atmosphere.
